elements of music, comedy and film.
With a plethora of different activities,
screenings and discussions taking place over the course of nine days, the Folkestone
Literary Festival is cementing Folkestones place as
a burgeoning hub

In fact,everything they could wish for. Except the one thing theywant most of
all. A baby.
When they finally decide to adopt, they know only how much
they long for a child. But the baby's troubled mother comes to haunt them and
their lives become entangled in a way no-one could have imagined
Mine
is written and directed by joint Artistic Director of Shared Experience, Polly
Teale. Celebrated for her potent visual and imaginative style, she won the Evening
Standard Award for Best Director for her own play After Mrs Rochester which also
won the Time Out Award for Best West End Production.

Writers' Talks in The Courtauld

Ruth Padel, Somerset House Writer in Residence, has
invited six eminent writers from different genres to give a series of exclusive
talks about their favourite painting in
The Courtauld Gallery. Writers include
Philip Pullman, Hisham Matar, Colm Toibin and Jackie Kay.
Each writer has
chosen a work that particularly engages, challenges, provokes or delights them,
and will present their personal reflections during a talk for a small audience,
directly in front of the painting. This will be followed by a book signing and
chance to meet the writer.
